TROT + TROT 4 KIDS
Editorial Design / Production

The Challenge
As Canada’s leading equine publication for over 40 years, TROT Magazine required a design approach that honored its history while engaging a new generation of enthusiasts.
The primary goal was to balance the sophisticated editorial needs of the main publication with the high-energy, educational requirements of TROT4Kids, a 16-page youth insert designed for ages 8 to 14.
My Role & Execution
-
Multi-Platform Design: I managed the end-to-end creative process for both editorial and promotional content, designing vibrant advertisements, complex infographics, and custom illustrations that brought the harness racing industry to life.
-
Youth Engagement: For the TROT4Kids insert, I developed a playful and exciting visual language tailored to a younger demographic, ensuring the content remained accessible, educational, and visually stimulating.
-
Production Management: Beyond the creative, I oversaw the full production lifecycle. This included coordinating with stakeholders, managing project budgets, and ensuring the technical precision of final files for a seamless submission to printers.
