Wings Magazine
Editorial Design & Art Direction

Project Overview
I was responsible for the editorial design and layout of Wings, the official inflight magazine for Sunwing Airlines. The project’s core objective was to serve as a high-quality travel companion for passengers, blending essential airline information with aspirational destination features. I aimed to create a visually immersive experience that transitioned seamlessly from the brand's corporate identity into the vibrant, sun-drenched aesthetic of its tropical destinations.
My Role & Execution
-
Editorial Art Direction: I curated and designed high-impact feature spreads, utilizing expansive photography and clean, modern typography to bring Sunwing’s top destinations to life on the page.
-
Information Design: I restructured the practical "Inflight Services" sections, including safety information, duty-free catalogs, and flight maps, to be highly readable and user-friendly within a compact magazine format.
-
Dynamic Layout Strategy: I developed a balanced grid system that allowed for a diverse range of content, from dense travel itineraries and hotel reviews to minimalist lifestyle essays, ensuring a rhythmic and engaging "flip-through" experience.
-
Brand-Aligned Aesthetics: I ensured that every issue maintained strict alignment with Sunwing’s brand guidelines while pushing the creative boundaries of the travel-media space to keep the content fresh and "trendy" for frequent flyers.
